2017 holiday gift guide for those who love cooking, food and photography.

It’s the time of year when we scramble to try and find the perfect gifts for our loved ones and friends. I really believe that we all need less, but better things. If you are going to give (or get) something new, it better be something that will really be used to make your life better for a long time.

Here are some items that I already love, and a few that are high on my wish list so I can love them even more.

Some of the links below are affiliate links, which means that if you choose to make a purchase, I will earn a commission. This commission comes at no additional cost to you. I recommend these products because they are helpful and useful; not because of the small commissions I make if you decide to buy something.

Gifts for the cook

Taste and Technique

Recipes to Elevate Your Home Cooking, with beautiful and inspiring imagery.

Riedel Swirl Wine Glasses

Not just for wine. These glasses are perfect everyday glasses from drinking wine, beer, water or cocktails.

Thermapen Mk4

This is an absolutely essential cooking tool. I can't tell you how many thermometers I have gone through that were unreliable before I finally got a Thermapen. It is durable, super fast and accurate every time.

Staub 6-Quart Round Dutch Oven

Staub makes the most gorgeous enameled cast-iron cookware. As beautiful as it is sitting on your stove as an art piece, it's even better when it's in the oven cooking a slow braise and anything else you can throw at it.

All-Clad 12″ Skillet

My most used and versatile skillet.
Breville Smart Oven Air

Breville Smart Oven Air

The countertop oven that will change your life. I haven't turned on the big oven since we got one. It air fries, dehydrates, cooks perfect toast, oh, and you can roast a 15lb turkey in it too.

Zwilling Double-Wall Glass Coffee Mugs

If you enjoy looking at your coffee beverages almost as much as you enjoy drinking them, you will love these hand-blown coffee mugs. They give the feeling of luxury when drinking your morning coffee. Available in different sizes.

Breville Barista Express Espresso Machine

For those who love to make great tasting espresso drinks at home. It's not a fully automated machine, you have to make the drinks like a real barista and it's so much fun every time.

Atlas Pepper Mill

Adjustable grind and comes in brass, copper and chrome. I prefer the chrome because it is so easy to clean.

hedley & bennett Aprons

Beautifully branded with the now iconic &. Used by chefs and home cooks everywhere. The hardest part is deciding which one to get.

OXO Good Grips Cookie Scoop

Have you ever tried making cookies that are the same size using a spoon and your hand and been successful? Yeah, me neither. The cookie scoop will change your cookie making forever, and it can be used to make perfect ice cream scoops too!

Earlywood Spatulas Trifecta

The spatulas I always grab from the crock. The cast iron scraper is great for getting bits off the bottom of a cast iron skillet.

KitchenAid Pasta Extruder Attachment

As much as I love rolling out fresh pasta dough, the pasta extruder makes it even easier. Just place the dough in the extruder and it pushes through perfect noodles that are ready to cook.

Instapots are all the rage right now. I don't think there's anything it can't do, but I haven't even used one yet. 🙂

Breville The Control Freak Smart Induction Cooker

Sansaire Sous Vide Immersion Circulator

Sous Vide Immersion Circulator

Modern cooking at home. Once you try it, you will be a believer. Perfectly cook proteins and vegetables every time with indescribable textures and flavors.

KRUPS Belgian Waffle Maker

I am cooking the chicken tenders in my Breville Airfryer. I love this new appliance, and rarely use my “big” oven. Also bought the Breville pressure cooker – its equally impressive. Thanks for the recipe!!! The designers at Breville do a really nice job, I can tell thought went into every feature.

I couldn’t agree more, David. I haven’t turned on my big oven since I got the Breville Smart Air Oven at the beginning of the summer. Can’t wait to get more Breville products. Happy Holidays!
