Not many things are more frustrating (or dangerous) than your cutting board rocking and rolling under your knife while you are trying to cut your food. An easy way to secure your cutting board to the counter is to use a non-adhesive shelf liner. Either cut two strips or use one large sheet and place it under your cutting board for a much more enjoyable cutting experience.

A moist dish towel can also do the trick, but my preference is the foamy shelf liner.
